Asian Orange Chicken

Ingredients: 

Chicken: 
2 lbs. boneless skinless chicken (1 inch cubes)
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 egg
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
oil (for frying)

Sauce: 
1-1/2 c. water
2 tbsp. orange juice
1/4 c. lemon juice
1/3 c. rice vinegar
2-1/2 tbsp. grated orange zest
1 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 tsp minced ginger root
1/2 tsp. minced garlic
2 tbsp. chopped green onion
1/4 tsp. red pepper flakes
3 tbsp. cornstarch
2 tbsp. water

Instructions: 
  1. Combine flour, salt and pepper
  2. Dip chicken in egg mixture and shake in flour mixture to coat
  3. Deep fry chicken in batches at 375 degrees
  4. Meanwhile, combine water, lemon juice, orange juice, rice vinegar, and soy sure
  5. Blend well over medium heat for 2-3 minutes
  6. Stir in brown sugar, orange zest, ginger garlic and onion
  7. Bring to a boil 
  8. Combine cornstarch with 1/4 cup of water and mix thoroughly
  9. Slowly stir cornstarch mixture into sauce until it thickens
  10. Pour sauce over breaded chicken. Enjoy!
